Attendance CONFLICTS

Please fill out the form below for any updates regarding your son’s attendance. All absences, tardies, and early dismissals from rehearsal requests must be submitted here.

Being a member of the Georgia Boy Choir is a tremendous privilege; but with privilege comes responsibility. Therefore all Choir members are expected to attend and be on time for all scheduled Georgia Boy Choir obligations including rehearsals and performances, Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Excused absences may be granted for illness, religious holidays, important family obligations (weddings, funerals), and participation in school concerts. Requests for excused absences should be made to the conductor in writing. Sometimes a boy has a cold or sore throat, which negatively affects his voice. However he still needs to be present at all rehearsals in order to learn the material that is presented and practiced.

Given the importance of each boy’s participation, the Georgia Boy Choir strongly urges parents to plan activities and out-of-town trips in conjunction with the Choir calendar.

For school-day performances, parents are asked to sign and circulate to his teachers the absence request (“Dear Educator” letter) as soon as it is received and communicate immediately with the conductor if there is a problem.

Accumulation of three (3) unexcused absences during the annual season may result in dismissal.

All notifications of an absence, tardy, or early dismissal from rehearsal must be made online via the Rehearsal Attendance Form. No communication regarding attendance via text, email, or phone call.
