Help Steven Chaperone in China
with the Georgia Boy Choir
One of the most wonderful aspects of being a member of the Georgia Boy Choir is the opportunity to go on tour and share our music with folks from other parts of the world. Over the years the Choir has gone to China, England, Denmark Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and throughout the United States. Opportunities like these allow us to expand our horizons, learn about different cultures and traditions, and perhaps most importantly, to learn to see others as more alike to us than different.
In May of this year, I will be traveling as a chaperone with 30 other members of the Georgia Boy Choir on a two-week concert tour to China. The Choir will be singing in major concert halls in Beijing, Shenyang, Xushou, Jinan, Shanghai, and Kunshan. Along the way they will have opportunities to try some exotic foods, see the Forbidden City, the Imperial Palace, and climb the Great Wall!
Opportunities like these are invaluable, but they are also very expensive. Total cost of the tour to China is just over $4500 per person.
The members of the Choir are all working hard to raise as much of the cost as they can, but the truth is that some are simply unable to do it on their own. I am working hard to help as much as I can in order to ensure that all of the members of the Choir are able to go on the tour. If I can find 50 people to donate $100 each, then I will raise enough for one deserving boy.
