 Artistic Director and Conductor, David R. White

has been training boys and young men to sing for more than three decades. In 1994, he founded the Boy Choir of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina. In 1998 he became the Music Director of Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. From 2001 to 2009, Mr. White was the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Atlanta Boy Choir in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also served as conductor of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Director of Music at the Second Presbyterian Church of Greenville. There, he founded an annual Summer Music Camp for children and adults. Under his direction, choirs have participated in numerous festivals throughout the world including the Prague International Choral Festival, the Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival, the Anchorage Choral Festival, the Cultural Olympiad in Greece, the Baltimore Boychoir Festival, the Southeast Festival of Song, and the Choral Olympics in Linz, Austria. His choirs have toured extensively throughout the United States, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, England, China, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Scotland, Ireland, and Iceland. He has been a conductor on the faculty at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Michigan as well as the Csehy Summer School of Music in Philadelphia.

In addition to conducting, Mr. White has been a featured soloist with numerous choral organizations and orchestras throughout the Southeast. He was a member of Robert Shaw’s Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus from 1987 – 1990. Mr. White holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Georgia College and is active as a lecturer, adjudicator, and conductor for choral and vocal competitions, workshops, and festivals.

Accompanist, Rosemary White

has been performing as a collaborative and solo pianist for more than 40 years. She has appeared in concerts throughout the United States and Europe. Mrs. White has earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and has taught music and piano at various educational institutions in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. She was the pianist for Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; prior to that she was accompanist for the Boy Choir of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina. She has been a frequent clinician and adjudicator for various contests and festivals and has served on the faculty of the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan and the Csehy Summer School of Music in Philadelphia.
Rosemary and her husband, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Georgia Boy Choir, David R. White, have been married for over 35 years and have three children.

Associate Conductor, Duane White

was a founding member of the Georgia Boy Choir in 2010.  Prior to that, he had sung with both the Atlanta Boy Choir and Florida's Singing Sons Boychoir which he joined when he was only six years old.

Duane received his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Covenant College and has sung in notable performance venues throughout the world, including Carnegie Hall, The Musikverein, The Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, St. Paul’s Cathedral, La Sagrada Familia, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and Washington National Cathedral. He also was a member of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus for notable performances including Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony and Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms. He has served as the music teacher for multiple private schools, teaching with an emphasis on practical choral experience based in musical excellence. He has also taught advanced courses including Music History and Conducting, and has served as the musical director for several scholastic theatrical programs.

Duane has been on the Artistic Staff of the Georgia Boy Choir since 2016, serving as a Vocal Coach and Assistant Conductor.  Additionally, he is the Director of Music at Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Church.

Duane and his wife, Hannah are the parents of a beautiful daughter, Esme.

 Assistant Conductor and Organist, Oliver Brett

Born in Kent in the UK in 1985, Oliver Brett was educated as a music and academic scholar at Tonbridge School and then as organ scholar of King’s College, Cambridge from where he graduated in 2007 with a BA in music and subsequently an MA in 2011.  Since then, he has held positions at Westminster Cathedral, Durham Cathedral and St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney.  In 2021 he received his doctorate from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, where he studied with David Higgs.

As well as being Director of the Peachtree Road Music Academy, he is associate organist and choirmaster at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.  He is also assistant conductor and organist for the Georgia Boy Choir.  His former organ and harpsichord teachers have included Sarah Baldock, Thomas Trotter, David Sanger, David Briggs, Dame Gillian Weir, Edoardo Bellotti and William Porter.  In October 2017, Oliver was awarded second prize and the Royal Canadian College of Organists’ Prize at the Canadian International Organ Competition.  In 2019, he was a prize winner at the Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in Kaliningrad, Russia.

As a recitalist, Oliver has performed across five continents. Whilst organ scholar of King’s College, Cambridge, he was heard by millions worldwide when he played for the 2006 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. He has performed in venues such as the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam; the Royal Albert Hall, London; the Seoul Arts Centre in South Korea; the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore; and performed with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, Britten Sinfonia, Florilegium, the Armonico Consort and the Academy of Ancient Music.

Assistant Accompanist, Sarah Hilscher

Sarah Hilscher has been performing and teaching piano and voice for 25 years. She attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she received Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. She then attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, home of the world-renowned Van Cliburn Piano Competition. Sarah studied piano there before obtaining a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance. While attending TCU, Sarah maintained a full piano studio in the Music Preparatory Department and additionally taught and accompanied in the Fort Worth area. She also adjudicated local and state piano competitions and performed in the TCU Opera. Upon moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2005, Sarah immediately acquired a fulltime piano studio and joined the Nashville Opera Chorus. Sarah has been living, teaching, and performing in the Atlanta area since 2007. Her husband, Nick, is a native of Marietta, and together they have 4 children, whom they homeschool. Their two sons are long-time members of the Georgia Boy Choir, currently singing in the Young Men’s Ensemble and the Concert Choir levels. In addition to her work as assistant accompanist, Sarah teaches private voice and piano lessons, and teaches music classes at Masters Academy, a homeschool arts and academics institution in Marietta. Sarah and Nick attend Westminster Presbyterian church, where they both sing in the Chancel Choir and Sarah directs children’s choir.
